Heather Blackwelder Legacy Scholarship

We are honored to announce five $1,000 scholarships in memory of Heather Alana Blackwelder. It is a privilege to offer these scholarships as a way to give back to our community and to honor the beautiful legacy Heather left behind. We encourage all graduating seniors in Forsyth County to apply and take part in this meaningful opportunity.

Heather Alana Blackwelder was tragically killed in an automobile accident in June 2020 at the age of 21. A dedicated student, she was on the President’s List at Kennesaw State University and preparing to begin her final year. Heather earned her cosmetology degree at West Forsyth High School and worked as a licensed stylist at Salon Next Door in Woodstock throughout college. Though her time was short, Heather lived fully—pursuing excellence in all she did and touching the lives of others by making them feel seen, heard, and valued.

Heather was a young woman of character and integrity. She had a joyful, compassionate spirit and lived with “eyes for others,” allowing that perspective to shape both her relationships and her definition of success. She chased her dreams with passion and purpose, always seeking to make a positive impact.
